US country star LeAnn Rimes tells the world of her picture perfect day in Belfast
US country star LeAnn Rimes has given Northern Ireland tourism a boost by tweeting snaps of her time in Belfast to nearly half a million online followers.
The 31-year-old singer and her husband, actor Eddie Cibrian, were in Belfast to kick off her latest European tour with a gig at the Waterfront Hall.
During their short stay in Belfast, the couple took a tour bus trip, visited pubs and posted photographs of art work and various other images of themselves enjoying the city. A 'selfie' outside St Anne's Cathedral was accompanied by the words "perfect day" and another picture taken at the outside garden of the Duke of York pub included the message "Well, lets have a few then..."
The glam US couple also enjoyed a meal at Italian restaurant Coppi in St Anne's Square, also in the Cathedral Quarter. "Happy and full at Coppi in Belfast DELICIOUS," LeAnn wrote on Twitter.
A spokeswoman for the Northern Ireland Tourist Board said: "It is great to see LeAnn Rimes taking time out to discover and enjoy some of what Belfast has to offer and to share her positive experiences online."
In May, touring US star Alicia Keys shared a photograph of Streamvale Farm in Dundonald with her 16.5m Twitter followers. "Took EGYPT [her son] 2 this beautiful farm in Belfast 2day!," she wrote, while over the summer the Game of Thrones cast posted snaps online of them having fun in The Crown Bar and The Barking Dog in Belfast.
