Van ends in River Foyle after Derry crash - three in hospital

A van has ended in the River Foyle after a crash in Derry with three people injured and in hospital.

The incident happened on the A2 Clooney Road just before 4.30pm.

The Ambulance Service sent two A&E crews, two Rapid Response Paramedics and two Ambulance Officers to the scene.

The Charity Air Ambulance was also tasked to attend the incident.

"Following a multi agency operation involving NIAS, PSNI, NIFRS and Foyle Search and Rescue, three patients were assessed, treated and taken to Altnagelvin Hospital," an Ambulance Service spokesman said.

The road has since been reopened.
