Vandals smash up Co Tyrone house after assaulting older homeowner

Thugs have smashed up a home and assaulted the resident at a property in Co Tyrone.

The incident happened at the Drumcairne Road in Stewartstown on Monday morning just before 11am.

Two men entered the property and attacked the older homeowner before taking off.

Detective Constable Robinson said: "One of the attackers was described as being 40 years of age, had a full facial beard, around 5’ 9” in height, wearing a yellow fluorescent jacket with jeans and speaking with a local accent. 

"The second male is described as being around 40 years of age, with a jacket and jeans and also speaking with a local accent.  The householder, who is an older person, was treated for minor injuries and was badly shaken as a result of the attack."

Anyone with information about the attack is asked to contact police on the non-emergency number 101, quoting the reference 395 with the date 23/07/2018.
