Vast lot to go under hammer in Ballymoney

A cornucopia of collectibles is going under the hammer at a mammoth auction, featuring everything from items of taxidermy and a zebra skin, to ram-rod pistols and even a bouncy castle.

McAfee Auctions is placing the mammoth 1,300 lot up for sale at its Ballymoney salesrooms in a lot that is being divided over two nights to accommodate its sheer size.

Among traditional items often found in auction houses, like silver, jewellery and antique furniture, this atypical lot features prized Hummel figurines, paintings by a range of renowned artists and even a host of musical instruments including two-cased accordions and saxophones.

However, this diverse lot also includes an unusual integrated ram-rod flintlock pistol; a Mosin-Nagant bold action rifle complete with bayonet; pieces of taxidermy; a zebra and cheetah skin, plus an exceptionally large pair of trap lamps.
