By Victoria Leonard

One person was taken to the Causeway Hospital yesterday evening following a two-vehicle road traffic collision in Portstewart.

Pictures of the incident in the Co Londonderry seaside town show one vehicle flipped on its side with the glass from its windscreen strewn across the road.

Fire crews and ambulances are seen surrounding the vehicles and tending to those involved.

Ambulance Service spokesman John McPoland said that a call had been received at 6.20pm about the accident on the Harbour Road.

He stated: "Two A&E crews were dispatched to the scene along with a rapid response paramedic.

"All patients were assessed and treated at the scene by the Northern Ireland Ambulance Service and one patient was transferred to the Causeway Hospital for further treatment."

It is believed that no one suffered serious injuries.
