Vehicles hit in Antrim vandalism spree

Police are trying to establish a motive after two cars were destroyed and a number of others damaged in a spate of attacks in Antrim.

An investigation has been launched after a Citroen C2 was destroyed and a Subaru extensively damaged in an arson attack in the Rathkyle area of the town at about 5.30am yesterday.

Fifteen minutes later, a Vauxhall Vectra was destroyed at Oaktree Drive. Three other cars were damaged and another stolen in separate incidents.

The window of a Renault was smashed in a shopping centre car park on Queens Road, and the rear nearside window of a Volkswagen was smashed in the Rathkyle area. A Vauxhall Astra was stolen after a burglary at a house in Rathmore Gardens.

Anyone with information can contact police on 101.
