Victim blasted in legs by gun gang while sitting in car at Bushmills home

By Nevin Farrell

A man was blasted in the legs as he sat in his car in the yard of his home on the outskirts of the north Antrim village of Bushmills.

The victim was rushed to hospital for treatment to his injuries after the attack at 12.30am yesterday. His injuries are not thought to be life-threatening.

It is believed the masked gun gang may have lain in wait at the rear of the house at Dunluce Road until the victim returned home.

A spokesman said: "Police received a report at around 12.30am that a man in his 30s had been shot a number of times in both legs as he sat in his car.

"It was reported that a number of masked men were involved in the incident." It's the second serious attack in the area recently. On Sunday in Ballymoney a 45-year-old man was attacked by four masked men wielding baseball bats.
