Victim of single-vehicle road crash named as Michael Ginesi

Police have named the victim of a single-vehicle road crash as 34-year-old Michael Ginesi.

Mr Ginesi was a local to the Lurgan area.

Inspector Jonny Francey said: “It’s believed the man was the driver of a car which struck a tree on the Annesborough Road at around 2.30am this morning, Saturday 26 May. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

"Officers are continuing to investigate the circumstances of the collision and the road remains closed at present.”

Sinn Fein MLA John O'Dowd sent his condolences to the family of Mr Ginesi.

"I want to send my condolences to the family of the man who lost his life so tragically in a road accident in Lurgan on Saturday morning," he said.

"On behalf of Sinn Féin locally I want to extend our deepest sympathies to the family and friends of the victim who we will keep in our thoughts and prayers."

Constable O'Hara from PSNI Collision Investigation Unit is appealing for witnesses to get in touch by calling 101, quoting reference number 218 26/05/18.
