Victims barricaded in room during Belfast burglary

A man and a woman barricaded themselves into an upstairs rooms during a burglary in north Belfast.

Six masked men forced their way into the house on Hesketh Road, Ardoyne, at around 11.40pm.

A PSNI statement said: “They threatened the occupants, a male and female both in their 20s, who had managed to barricade themselves in an upstairs room.

“The intruders ransacked the property before fleeing empty-handed.

“The residents were left shaken but uninjured.”
