Video: Arrest after altercation erupts outside Belfast bar

Police are investigating an altercation which took place outside a Belfast bar on Saturday night.

It happened outside Kelly's Cellars at Bank Street in the city centre.

Video shot by an eyewitness showed one man in a confrontation with a number of men, including two in high-vis jackets.

The man can be seen struggling with the men before he is wrestled to the ground.

The man is repeatedly told "are you going to stop... there's no need for it".

At one point a man can be heard shouting: "That's enough leave him alone."

The man at the centre of the incident can be seen gesturing to the crowd with a bloodied face.

Kelly's Cellars said it had no comment to make on the incident.

The PSNI said: "Police attended the scene of an altercation at Bank Street, Belfast, at around 11.20pm on Saturday December 15. One man was arrested on suspicion of assault and later released on bail. Enquiries into the incident are ongoing.

"Anyone who witnessed the incident is asked to contact police at Lisburn Road on 101 quoting reference number 1504 15/12/18."
