Video: Jordan hits right note on dad's 60th with moving tribute song

By David Young

Singer and make-up artist Jordan Humphries is a real Daddy's girl.

And to prove it she's penned an emotional ballad in tribute to her father Brian, who has just turned 60.

Freelance make-up artist Jordan (26) had planned to surprise him with a performance of her song Words Are Not Enough at a party in his honour at the Galgorm Hotel in Ballymena, but at the last moment decided that a surprise public performance might just be a little bit over the top.

Instead she saved the song's debut for a private dinner when the family were all together at home.

Her performance - and her dad's emotional reaction - were captured on a video that you can view on our website.

"It was my dad's 60th birthday and I wanted to think of something that would be a really special present for him," she told the Belfast Telegraph last night

"He's a big softie.

"If you could see him, he's about 6ft 2ins, has a very big build, and you might think he's a bit scary to see.

"But he's just a big teddy bear really."

She was glad she decided to sing to him at home.

"I got a bit choked up, as did my dad. He really, really loved the song," she explained.

"Singing it live to him was a lot more personal than a public performance could ever have been."

Brian, who runs three gift card shops, said he was totally overwhelmed by his daughter's touching gesture.

"It was really amazing, I wasn't expecting it at all," he explained.

"I know Jordan has written songs before for people - but I never expected her to do it for me.

"It's very heartfelt and touching.

"I loved it! She's really Daddy's girl.

"I'm a very lucky man."

Earlier this year a spoof song by Jordan about TV reality show Love Island went viral, attracting more than 400,000 views.
