'Vote for breakfast': Stephen Nolan in a scramble over Brexit slip

Stephen Nolan had breakfast on his mind during his late night talkshow when he made an unfortunate slip during a Brexit debate.

The heavyweight broadcaster was hosting a heated EU referendum debate on his weekly BBC show on Wednesday night.

He said: “There would be claims and counterclaims about what would happen with the Irish border in the event of a vote for breakfast.”

Viewers took to social media to point out his mistake and on his radio show on Wednesday he said that his colleagues weren’t going to let him forget the moment.

He said: “I was incapable on TV last night of saying Brexit. I am not Mark Carruthers I cannot read a script.

"I cannot read an autocue. Not that you are going to let me forget about it.

"Yes I messed up and this dirty little team in here of people that are supposed to support me what to play this again.”
