Walk and cycle paths planned for the Giant's Causeway
A new walkway and cycle path is being planned at the Giant's Causeway.
The foot and bike route is more than two miles long, running from the Causeway to a townland called the Aird.
Initial discussions are already under way with the National Trust and other landowners.
Regional Development Minister Danny Kennedy's department said the scheme was in the very early stages.
But he added: "I recognise that tourism is very important to the Northern Ireland economy and the Causeway Coast is one of our most beautiful and scenic areas which is very popular with sightseers from here and overseas.
"I am keen to provide any infrastructure such as footpaths and cyclepaths which help to boost tourism and also encourage people to become more active."
But his department said it was not yet in a position to provide costings because the scheme is still at the design stage.
