Videos of the dramatic collapse have been circulating on social media.

Charter NI chief executive David Stitt tweeted earlier this week that the building of the Kilcooley bonfire was "well on its way to be Ulster Biggest" in 2018.

He said it was being constructed like a "military operation".

On Saturday Mr Stitt claimed the bonfire was pushed over on purpose by structural engineers due to "structural concerns".
