Watch: Man goes skiing at Stormont as snow falls across Northern Ireland

'We always put the skis in if it's snowing - you never know what will happen'

By Claire Williamson

It's a unique and fun way of killing some time.

Lawrence McBride from Londonderry was in Belfast to catch a flight to Holland.

But due to the inclement weather that arrived overnight he faced delays and was already early. He had put his skis in the car and thought he would make use of the overnight snow fall.

Lawrence is the director of the adventure company Far and Wild.

He tweeted the video of himself skiing down the hill of Stormont on Friday.

He said: My flight was delayed. I had skis in the back of the van and thought I'd have a wee ski at Stormont.

"We were on the road early coming up from Derry and we always put the skis in if it's snowing because you never know what's going to happen."
