A slurry tanker crash that nearly destroyed a Glenavy property has startled a homeowner.

The crash happened on Friday afternoon, February 10, on the Belfast Road in Glenavy, Co Antrim.

Dramatic video footage of the crash shown on the BBC sees the tractor with a slurry tanker attached colliding with a black hatchback car.

The impact causes the tanker to spin out of control into the roadside property, destroying the front wall completely but narrowly missing the main building.

The Belfast road was closed to other drivers while the two vehicles were removed and oil was cleaned

The homeowner Paul Mulvenna told the BBC he was shocked but relieved no one had been injured.

"Well obviously I'm quite shocked but obviously it could have been so much worse," he said.

"If somebody had been standing here you can see where parts of the wall went flying, it could have been a lot worse if myself or any of my children had been there, the postman, anybody at all."
