Watch: Paul McCavery's amazing snooker tricks hit the headlines.... again

By Jonathan Bell

Annalong man Paul McCavery has once again been making headlines with his snooker trick shots.

The 28-year-old featured on RTE's Late Late Show, which showcased four of his incredible trick shots.

In one of the incredible shots he sends the ball up the table before it comes off the table, only for Paul to play keep-up with the cue ball and send it back onto the table to pot a colour.

"What an athlete," said host Ryan Tubridy.

Trailer engineer Paul is a near permanent fixture in the snooker hall.

"But I spend so much time trying different shots. Some shots take hours of practice. The toe tap shot took an age just trying to judge the weight of the white.

"I was supposed to be in the league this year, but was too busy with the shots to play in games.

"It's a bit of fun and sure better than out in the street drinking... and at least it's warm."

Paul last featured in the Belfast Telegraph when a trick shot of his went around the world. Although it didn't go to plan, the resulting shot was watched by thousands. The footage was licenced by a media company and has featured in adverts around the world.
