Watermill top restaurant at annual NI Food Awards

A Co Fermanagh restaurant is celebrating after being named the best in Northern Ireland.

The Watermill Restaurant in Lisnaskea won the coveted top spot at the Food Awards Northern Ireland 2017.

The venue opened its doors six years ago.

"We would like to thank our customers for your continuing support which is so necessary for our continuing health and success," the team led by chef Pascal Brissaud said.

"We look forward to a long future here in Lisnaskea, where we will continue to welcome all of our customers to a memorable experience enjoying our award-winning dining in our breathtaking setting here on the shore of Lough Erne."

Chef of the year was Michael Deane of Deanes. Best seafood establishment went to Fish City in Belfast, and fine dining restaurant of the year was Oysters in Strabane.

The black tie event was hosted by Pamela Ballantine at Belfast's Crowne Plaza Hotel.
