Weather: 60mph winds warning for Northern Ireland

Gusts of winds could reach up to 60mph as a weather warning has been put in place for Northern Ireland.

The yellow warning for wind is in place from 1am on Wednesday January 24 until 2pm.

The high winds are expected to impact some bus and train services leaving some journeys taking longer.

The Met Office said: "Over Northern Ireland peak winds are expected during the early hours of Wednesday.

"Over western Scotland, including the Western Isles, the highest winds are expected to be late in the night and early on Wednesday morning and thus coincide with the morning rush hour.

"By late morning and early afternoon the highest winds will be confined to the far north of mainland Scotland, Orkney and Shetland."
