Weather: Has Northern Ireland's summer arrived? Week without rain on the horizon

By Claire Williamson

The sun has put its hat on and it looks as though it's planning on staying in Northern Ireland this week - with no rain forecast.

For those enjoying the May Day Bank Holiday you'll be reaching for the sunglasses and shorts as temperatures are expected to hit 17 degrees.

But don't be packing them away tonight because the good weather is set to stick around - and as it stands there isn't one drop of rain in this week's forecast.

The Met Office predicts Monday to remain dry with bright and sunny conditions accompanied with some light breezes.

Monday night will stay dry and mild.

And the good weather is set to stick around as Tuesday sees temperatures maintaining 17 degrees.

Forecasters said the day will stay dry with occasional bright and sunny spells - although the day may start off cloudy in the morning.

It will feel pleasant with some light easterly breezes.

And from Wednesday onwards it is expected to remain bright and dry with some cloud creeping in on Friday.
