Weather: Summertime blues for Northern Ireland as rain sweeps in to dampen mood
The good people of Northern Ireland will go into the weekend brandishing brollies as the province sees a return to wet weather.
Parks and beer gardens have been busy this week with people enjoying a reprieve from a largely average summer.
Yesterday's heavy showers spoiled the welcome rest from rain, with people in Belfast such as a cyclist avoiding minor flooding caused by a downpour in Queen's Square in the city.
After the sun, the city was hit by a thunderstorm in the evening.
The Met Office said today would bring a mixture of sunny spells, wind and occasional showers especially in the west part of the province.
It added the outlook from tomorrow to Sunday is a mixture of sunny spells and occasional showers throughout, some of the them heavy, with the chance of hail and thunder.
