Weather warning: Flooding and traffic delays expected for Northern Ireland

The Met Office has issued a yellow weather warning for across Northern Ireland with heavy rain forecast for Wednesday afternoon.

The weather warning will take effect from midday on Wednesday and will remain in place until 8pm.

The public have been warned to expect spray and flooding on roads, leading to difficulty driving and longer journey times.

The yellow weather warning will be in place from midday until 8pm.

For those concerned about a repeat of flooding that hit Northern Ireland in August - which caused substantial damage in the north west region - the Met Office has said there is "a lower likelihood of isolated property flooding" from the downpour.
