A reported attempt to drag a woman into a car in south Belfast is being investigated by police.

The PSNI said they were alerted to the incident on Rugby Road around 5.50pm on July 9.

It’s understood the woman in her 20s had been walking when two men in a silver vehicle pulled up and tried to get her into the car.

It’s believed the passenger in the vehicle also tried to pull the woman into the vehicle but she was able to escape and go to a nearby shop.

Anyone who witnessed the incident or has information has been asked to call 101, quoting reference 1430 of July 13.

It follows another appeal from police relating to a car hijacking in Co Londonderry on Monday.
