Woman (50s) punched in face during gang raid on Northern Ireland home

A woman was punched in the face and a man left with cuts after a burglary in Dundonald.

It happened in the Drumadoon Drive area at around 3.45am on Tuesday.

Four men attempted to forced entry to a flat in the area. One of the males was armed with a hammer and a second male was armed with what is believed to have been a metal pipe.

The man and woman inside the flat prevented the attackers from gaining entry. The woman, aged in her 50s, was punched to the face during the incident and the man, aged in his 30s, sustained a cut to his head and cuts to his arms as a result of the incident.

Police are appealing for information and can be contacted on 101. Or information can be passed to the police anonymously on 0800 555 111.
