Woman arrested at Dublin airport after armed gardai arrest man on Dublin to Belfast Enterprise train

A woman has been arrested at Dublin Airport following the detainment of an armed man this afternoon.

The woman aged in her 20s was arrested at Dublin Airport on Wednesday evening.

She is being held at Store Street Station.

This follows gardai arresting a man and seizing a firearm during an operation in Connolly Station this afternoon.

It is understood the garda Armed Support Unit arrested the man at 3.20pm at the Dublin to Belfast train minutes before departure.

The man is also being held at Store Street Garda Station.

The incident was a planned garda operation and is not terror related.

The train was delayed for 19 minutes as gardai dealt with the incident.
