Woman charged with attempted murder of two police officers

A 27-year-old woman is due in court charged with the attempted murder of two police officers during a pipe bomb attack in Belfast.

The woman - who was arrested last Wednesday - faces two counts of attempted murder, possession of explosives with intent to endanger life and preparation of terrorist acts.

She is due at Belfast's Laganside Courts tomorrow morning.

The charge comes after two young constables had only seconds to dive for cover when pipe bombs were thrown at them in the Upper Crumlin Road area last Tuesday.

Police have said a 25-year-old man arrested in Shrewsbury in England remains in custody.
