Woman dies after being hit by car in Co Londonderry

A woman in her 40s has died after she was hit by a car in Coleraine.

It happened at a car park in the Railway Place area of the Co Londonderry town on Friday night.

The woman was involved in a collision with a Vauxhall Corsa car at around 9pm, police said.

A PSNI spokesman said: "Police can confirm that a female pedestrian, aged in her 40s, has died following a road traffic collision in the Railway Place car park in Coleraine last night."

PSNI Inspector Colin Reeves of Coleraine Police Station has appealed for anyone who was in the car park in Railway Place around 9pm and who witnessed the collision to contact local officers in Coleraine or the Collision Investigation Unit on 101 quoting reference number 1210 24/02/17
