Woman dragged from car by masked men in west Belfast daylight robbery

A woman has been dragged from her car by masked men during a robbery in west Belfast.

Shortly before 10.30am on Monday morning a woman's car was blocked by another car as she was driving along Kennedy Way.

Police said two men wearing balaclavas got out of their car and tried to get into the woman's car.

Unable to gain entry, they proceeded to use a hammer and smashed the front passenger window.

They then dragged the woman out of her car and reached into the vehicle and stole a sum of cash.

A male passenger was also present in the front seat.

Detective Constable Ian Austin said: “The woman and male were not injured, however they were left very badly shaken.

"I would appeal to anyone who was in this area at the time or who has any information to contact Detectives at Musgrave on the non-emergency number 101.

"Or, if someone would prefer to provide information without giving their details they can contact the independent charity Crimestoppers and speak to them anonymously on 0800 555 111."
