A woman is due to appear before Belfast Magistrates' Court today, accused of the attempted murder of a man in west Belfast.

The 57-year-old man was found lying in the Conway Street area with stab wounds just after 2.50am on Sunday.

It is believed he may have been stabbed at a nearby house in the Wilton Street area.

He was taken to hospital where his condition is not believed to be life-threatening.

Police arrested the 45-year-old woman a short time later in connection with the attack.

Detective Sergeant Andrew Madden appealed for anyone who saw the man in the Wilton Street and Conway Street areas, or who knows anything about the incident, to contact detectives on the non-emergency number 101.
