A Co Down woman has appeared in court accused of smuggling drugs into prison.
At Lisburn Magistrates Court yesterday, 26-year-old Katrina McClenaghan was charged with a total of seven offences, all alleged to have occurred on July 19 last year.
McClenaghan, from Seaview in Killough, is accused of supplying class A cocaine and class C diazepam, possession of those drugs, possessing class B drugs cannabis and amphetamine, also known as speed, and a further allegation of conveying drugs into HMP Maghaberry. Although no facts surrounding the charges were opened in court, a police officer said she knew the circumstances and that she believed she could connect McClenaghan to the charges.
Defence barrister Connor O'Kane said the prosecution was seeking a 10-week adjournment as "the matter may proceed on indictment" in the Crown Court.
Releasing McClenaghan on continuing bail, District Judge Rosie Watters ordered her to come back to court on April 7.
