Woman punched in face and dragged from car in Belfast hijacking

A woman has been punched in the face and dragged from a car in a Belfast hijacking.

The 21-year-old was left shaken by her ordeal, police said.

It happened in the Ardglen Place area in the north of the city near the junction of Jamaica Street on Monday at 6.30pm. Police said the woman was flagged down by a man who asked for directions.

When she opened her window she was hit in the face and then dragged from the car.

The man then got in and drove off in the grey-coloured Volkswagen Golf.

Police are investigating and have appealed for information.
