Woman recovers after Bangor knife attack

A woman who was stabbed in Bangor, Co Down, is in a stable condition in hospital.

The 31-year-old was injured during the incident in Ballynoe Gardens in the Kilcooley estate at 6.45pm on Saturday.

She was rushed to hospital in a critical condition.

The police said the victim's condition is no longer considered to be life-threatening. Peter Weir, DUP MLA for North Down, said he was “disgusted” at the stabbing.

Police appealed for anyone with information to come forward.
