A woman was stabbed in the head after an all-day vodka drinking session, the High Court heard.
She claimed a friend attacked her with a kitchen knife at his apartment block at St John's Close in Belfast after being refused her bank card, prosecutors said.
Ronald McCullough (30) denies charges of inflicting grievous bodily harm with intent and possession of an offensive weapon over the incident on August 8.
During a failed bail application the accused and alleged victim were described as "an explosive combination". Justice Weatherup heard claims the woman previously fired a crossbow at McCullough, and also heard that the alleged victim no longer wanted to make a statement of complaint.
But ruling that she would be at risk if McCullough was released, the judge refused bail.
