A woman has been taken to hospital after being cut out of her car by firefighters following a crash in Co Down.

The incident took part on the Ballywalter Road in Millisle, Donaghadee around 3:30pm.

Two fire appliances attended the scene of a one vehicle road traffic collision and used hydraulic cutting equipment to rescue the woman from the vehicle.

A Northern Ireland Ambulance Service spokesperson confirmed that the woman was then taken to the Ulster Hospital by ambulance following treatment at the scene.

The Ballywalter Road has now reopened to traffic.
