Woman 'threatened with gun' during robbery in Omagh

An armed robber threatened a woman at a commercial premises in Omagh with a suspected firearm before making off with quantities of cash, scratch cards and cigarettes.

Detectives have appealed for witnesses to come forward following the incident on Baroney Road in Creggan on Wednesday February 14.

Police received reports shortly after 9.30pm that a masked man, armed with a suspected firearm, entered the premises and threatened a female member of staff.

The man made off on foot with a sum of cash, a number of scratch cards and a quantity of cigarettes.

The woman was not injured but left shaken by her ordeal.

Detective Sergeant McConnell is appealing for anyone who witnessed the incident or anyone with any information that can assist with the investigation to contact detectives in Omagh on 101 quoting reference 1434 14/02/18.
