Woman 'trapped under car' after being hit while watching Twelfth parade

A woman has been hurt after she was hit by a car while watching a Twelfth of July parade.

The 18-year-old was on the Lisburn Road when it happened just before 1pm.

She was taken to the Royal Victoria Hospital with a knee injury.

An eyewitness told the BBC that the car had lurched forward and knocked into three women.

It "brushed one girl, knocked another one right up in the air and another was trapped under the car," said John Sheil.

He said he thought it was an accident.

Police added: "Three females, one aged in her 30s and two aged in their 40s, received minor injuries when they were struck by a grey Peugeot car that was travelling as part of the parade."
