Woman's car hijacked by two men in Newtownabbey

Police are investigating after a woman's car was hijacked by two men in Newtownabbey.

Detectives are keen to speak to a member of the public who may have given the men a lift.

It was reported to police at 8am a red Vauxhall Corsa was stolen from the woman in the Grays Lane area of Newtownabbey after she was approached by the pair.

It was driven in the direction of the Shore Road area.

At around 8.30am the car was found in the Lylehill Road area of Templepatrick.

Two men were arrested on suspicion of hijacking and other offences and are being questioned by police in Musgrave Station.

Police believe a member of the public may have unwittingly given the men a lift away from Lylehill Road, Templepatrick at around 8.30am this morning.

Detective Sergeant Mason has asked anyone with information to contact 101 quoting reference 248 of 17/11/17, or if they wish to remain anonymous Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
