Women avoid prison over £50k benefit fraud
Two women have been convicted at Belfast Crown Court for falsely claiming almost £50,000 of benefits.
Eileen Conn (44) of Springfield Road, Belfast, claimed £29,132 while failing to declare employment.
She was given a nine-month prison sentence, suspended for three years.
Elizabeth Dorman (55) of Invernook Park, Belfast, claimed £19,649 while failing to declare employment and a pension. She was given a 24-week prison sentence, suspended for two years.
Both are also required to repay any outstanding money.
