Yobs assault man walking dog in west Belfast

Police investigating an assault on a dog walker in west Belfast have appealed for witnesses to come forward.

The 33-year old man was walking his dog behind a chip shop in the Jasmine End area of Twinbrook when he was attacked by three men at 8.40pm on Sunday, July 21.

The victim was punched unconscious and fell to the ground.

The man, who came to a short while later, sustained a broken jaw and a number of injuries to his head and face. He required hospital treatment and has undergone surgery.

His assailants were in their late teens or early 20s. One was wearing blue floral shorts and a white T-shirt, and a second had short blonde hair and was wearing grey bottoms with no top.

Police want a woman who gave assistance to the victim and other witnesses to contact them on 0845 600 8000.
