Young Coleraine man to be laid to rest

By Allan Preston

A Co Londonderry man who passed away suddenly in England last month will be laid to rest tomorrow.

Nick O'Neill from the Hartford Park area of Coleraine had been living in Newcastle Upon Tyne where he died on February 25.

Further details about what caused his death have yet to be released.

A family notice described him as the "dearly loved son" of Joe and Donna, dear brother of Jordan, Stephanie and Vikki, and the much-loved grandson of John and Sally Holmes as well as Elizabeth and the late Jack O'Neill. The message added that his death was "deeply regretted" and he was "sadly missed by his loving family and entire family circle".

Days after Mr O'Neill's death, his sister Stephanie commented on Facebook: "I'm so heartbroken... you were my little brother and had your whole life in front of you and now taken far too young! I love you always!"

Mr O'Neill's funeral service will take place at Ballysally Presbyterian Church tomorrow at 1.30pm followed by interment in Coleraine Cemetery.

Family flowers only have been requested, with donations in lieu if desired to the Kevin Bell Repatriation Trust.
