Young man dies following in Ballygowan car crash

A man in his 20s has died following a car crash in Co Down on Monday night.

The victim's vehicle collided on the Comber Road in Ballygowan, just after 10pm.

Inspector David McClements said: "A blue Renault Megane was involved in a road traffic collision when it was travelling from Ballygowan to Comber and the man, who is from the Newtownards area, later died as a result.

"I would ask anyone who was in the area at the time or who saw the blue Renault Megane to contact the Collision Investigation Unit at Steeple Police Station in Antrim, or Newtownards Police Station, on the non emergency number 101."

The Comber Road, Ballygowan, reopened to traffic at 3.40am on Tuesday morning.
