The young mother who died in a horror car crash in Co Donegal at the weekend was involved in another collision in Co Fermanagh hours earlier, it has emerged.

Shiva Devine (20) was in a car accident shortly before she was killed at East End in Bundoran in the early hours of Sunday.

The earlier accident involving one vehicle happened on the Belleek to Garrison road, about nine miles from Bundoran.

Later the mother-of-one from The Acres in Belleek was a passenger in a blue Peugeot 306 car which hit the wall of a business premises in Bundoran at around 3.25am on Sunday.

She died alongside her friend Conall McAleer, also aged in his early 20s, and from Boa Island Road in Kesh.

They were among six people who were travelling in the car after a night out in the popular Co Donegal seaside resort.

Mother-of-one Rachel Elliott (25), from Ballinamallard, remains on life support at Beaumont Hospital in Dublin where she was transferred on Sunday evening from Sligo University Hospital.

Her sister Lorraine posted on Facebook yesterday: "Thank you everyone for your prayers, messages etc. It means a lot. Please Rachel pull through. We all need you."

Rachel's uncle George added: "Please folks keep my wee niece Rachel in your prayers.

"She is a fighter and still fighting."

Two men, aged in their 20s, remain in Sligo University Hospital with injuries which are not believed to be life-threatening. The sixth occupant of the car, a man in his 20s, had been arrested by Irish police but was later released without charge.

Post-mortem examinations were carried out on the two deceased at the mortuary in Sligo University Hospital yesterday morning before their remains were released to their families.

Floral tributes were left at the accident scene in Bundoran yesterday by family and friends of the deceased.

One card left with a bunch of flowers read: "From your little sisters. Love you always."

Shiva Devine, a native of Donegal Town, will be laid to rest following Funeral Mass this morning at 11am at St Brigid's Church in Ballintra, 12 miles from Bundoran.

She is survived by her three-year-old son Kyle, partner Brian, parents Nicola and Julian and siblings Odin, Che, Freya and Eris Daisy.

The funeral of Conall McAleer will take place tomorrow.

His Requiem Mass will be held in St Joseph's Church in Ederney at midday, followed by interment in Edenclaw Cemetery.

He is survived by his parents, Brian and Jacqueline and sisters Niamh, Tara, Sadhbh and Torai, grandmother, aunts, uncles and wider family circle.

The parish priest of Ederney, Fr Frank McManus, said yesterday: "Words are impossible and that gives an indication of how people are feeling at this time.

"Obviously the community is in shock as Conall was a popular young lad in the area, as are his family.

"For his parents, sisters and the extended family it's a time of utter desolation."

Conall was a former underage football player with Ederney St Joseph's GAC, where he was remembered yesterday as a talented fullback.

"Conall was a beloved brother of our players Sadhbh and Torai and past players Niamh and Tara," a club spokesman said.

"He was very popular and gregarious, and the whole club is in shock at this awful news.

"Our thoughts and prayers are extended to his family and friends at this tragic time, and those of Shiva Devine who was also tragically killed."

"We also wish all those injured in the accident a full and speedy recovery."

Tributes were also paid by Erne Gaels GAA club in Belleek where Shiva lived with her young son for the past three years.
