Youth assaulted in gang attack

Police in north Belfast are appealing for information following an assault in the Antrim Road area.

About 8.30pm on Sunday, January 31, a 16-year-old male was assaulted somewhere between Downview Avenue and Waterloo Gardens.

The teenager was walking when he was assaulted by a number of people. The teenager sustained facial injuries and was taken to hospital for treatment.

One of the males involved is described as being 5ft 10in tall with ginger hair. He was wearing a white hoody and dark training shoes. Another of the males is described as being 5ft 7in tall with dark, wavy hair. He was wearing a purple Lacoste tracksuit. There are no descriptions for the other people involved.
