Youth with knife robs woman in north Belfast

Detectives in north Belfast are appealing for information after a woman in her 50s was robbed by a knife-wielding youth.

The armed robbery happened at a church hall in the Townsend Street area on Monday morning. One member of staff was there at the time and was robbed of money and her car. The vehicle, a black Volkswagen Golf, was found burnt out in the Springfield Road area of west Belfast at approximately 10.15am on Monday.

The woman was left shocked but was otherwise unharmed, a police spokesman said.

The male youth was wearing a navy and grey checked hooded top and grey tracksuit bottoms.
