Youths attack passing cars with stones and bottles in west Belfast

Youths have attacked passing cars with stones and bottles in west Belfast.

It's understood police received reports of youths drinking, burning bins and throwing objects towards traffic in the Falls Park area at around 9pm on Friday.

Buses were subsequently diverted away from the area.

PSNI inspector David McBride described the incident as "very dangerous".

"If a bottle or stone were to hit a passing vehicle it could shatter the windscreen, injure the driver or cause the driver to lose control of the vehicle," he said.
