One Summer's Day: Experts assess your photos

By Amanda Poole

Entries for the One Summer’s Day photographic competition have now closed.

Launched by the Belfast Telegraph and Northern Ireland Tourist Board, the aim of Northern Ireland’s biggest mass participation photographic competition is to offer a snapshot of what people were up to and how Northern Ireland looked on one summer’s day in 2010.

Budding photographers were out and about with their cameras, snapping images all over the province on Saturday, June 19.

They then sent us the photographs they captured for consideration in the competition.

We received photographs from every county with snaps of people, pets, places and everything else in between.

Following the overwhelming response from our readers, judging will take place on Monday, July 19.

There are three categories in the contest — primary school, secondary school and everyone else.

Winners from each category will be rewarded with a family break in Northern Ireland.

Winners’ photographs, along with the best of the rest, will be announced in this newspaper on Monday, August 9.

A 12-page supplement will be included with the Belfast Telegraph on Wednesday August 11, providing a photographic time capsule of Northern Irish summer.
