Police probe two weekend robberies of Belfast shops

Police are investigating after two robberies at shops in west Belfast.

Two men, one armed with a knife, entered a shop in the Durham Street area shortly after 5pm on Saturday.

One produced the knife and demanded cash, while the other stayed at the door. The pair then made off towards Divis with a sum of cash.

The first man was wearing a dark anorak, white baseball cap, light green camouflage top, dark tracksuit bottoms and dark trainers. The second man was wearing a light grey top, navy jeans and dark footwear.

In a separate incident earlier in the day, two masked men left with cash and cigarettes after robbing a shop in the Falls Road area. The pair entered the store around 2.40pm.

One was aged between 30 and 40 and was wearing a dark brown coat and monkey hat, with a scarf covering his face. The second was wearing a grey coat and also had a scarf over his face.
