Adams rejects DUP criticism of PSNI 'manners' remark

Sinn Fein president Gerry Adams has rejected unionist criticism of language he used during the party's recent public meetings on the policing issue.

Mr Adams had told the meetings in Derry and Belfast that the Sinn Fein leadership intended "putting manners" on the police.

The DUP's Ian Paisley Jnr described the remarks as childish and pathetic, but Mr Adams said today that the police at the moment were unaccountable and Sinn Fein was going to change that.
