New DUP leader Edwin Poots is expected to put pressure on Arlene Foster to step aside as First Minister before her proposed date at the end of June.

Mrs Foster has previously said she will continue as DUP leader until May 28 and as First Minister for a month after that. But sources close to Mr Poots said that was “far too long” for her to remain in office at Stormont.
