Sinn Fein MLA Phil Flanagan back in election running

By Noel McAdam

Sinn Fein MLA Phil Flanagan is back in the running to stand in the Assembly elections - after being deselected as a candidate.

The controversial MLA, who even clashed with party colleague Mitchel McLaughlin, the Assembly Speaker, was dropped from the party ticket last month.

The party's central committee has decided to hold a second selection convention in Fermanagh after evidence of procedural errors in the initial selection meeting.

Mr Flanagan is to allow his name to go forward at the meeting, which is scheduled for next Sunday week.
